The Grinnell (IA) Herald
July 12, 1901--Sunday afternoon Thos. Fleming left the home of his son-in-law, Mr. J. Shoemaker, where he had been for dinner, and started for his own home in the southwest part of town. He doubltless became bewildered and lost his way--his mind being affected for some time--and as he failed to reach his home searching parties were out looking for him till about noon yesterday, when he was found in an unconscious condition south of town about a mile, near the poor house, lying in a ditch. He was brought home at once and is now in a precarious condition. It is indeed a sad and pitiable case.--Montezuma Democrat.
