DUVERNE EMERY FELL WITH "BLACK GOLD"

Duverne Emery, former Poweshiek county boy who has been making a name for himself as a jockey on southern tracks, was astride of "Black Gold," famous racehorse which dropped with a broken leg in a race at New Orleans Wednesday. The jockey was thrown clear as the horse went down and press reports did not mention any injury. "Black Gold" came from nowhere to win the Kentucky Derby two years ago and has been one of the greatest money winners on the turf.
