COUNTY NEWS

An umbrella mender who was plying his vocation in town one day last week, called at the home of Miss Belle Wright and was given two handsome white silk parasols that needed slight repairs. The rascal walked off with them saying he would return in the afternoon or as soon as he could get them repaired. It is supposed that he is walking yet as he didn't show up, and the owners of the parasols have less faith than ever in the trust that is to be placed in the members of the human race.--Chroncle. A fellow appeared in Grinnell a week ago trying to sell an umbrella with the name "Aiken" on the handle.
