DAWKINS-CARTER

A quiet and pretty home wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Dawkins of Grinnell Sunday afternoon when their only daughter, Ethel, was united in marriage with Mr. Leland Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Carter, of Montezuma.

Immediate relatives and a few friends witnessed the single ring service, which was conducted by Rev. C.A. Carman, pastor of the Baptist church. Promptly at three o'clock the bride and groom took their places between two baskets of pink and white carnations, where the ceremony was read.

Following the ceremony, refreshments were served by Miss Matilda Tyson and Mr. Homer Dawkins, the latter a brother of the bride.

Mrs. Carter has spent most of her life in Grinnell. She attended the public schools and graduated from Grinnell High School in the class of 1912. For several years she has been employed in various offices in Grinnell and in that time has made many friends.

Her husband is a successful young farmer of the Montezuma neighborhood and has the respect of all who know him. He is a former service man and served in this country and later in France with Company C., 316th Motor Supply Train, of the Ninety-first division.

Mr. and Mrs. Carter will make their home on the groom's farm, three and a half miles northeast of Montezuma.
