OBSERVE GOLDEN WEDDING

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Graham observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Dec. 10. On Sunday, Dec. 8 during the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. they were honored at an open house in their home east of Grinnell.

As the guests entered the Graham's home they were greeted by Mrs. Wilbur Allen, daughter of the honored couple, and Mrs. Beecher Graham, daughter-in-law of the couple. Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Beecher (Graham) planned the event.

100 ATTENDED

Approximately 100 relatives and friends signed the guest book handled by the couple's only granddaughter, Miss Jenese Graham, who also cared for the gift table.

The serving table was attractively decorated and centered with an anniversary cake decorated in gold and white. Adorning the top tier were two sugar bells, with the number "50" in gold centered between them.

Other arrangements on the table included gold and white mints made by the couple's daughter, Myrna Allen, and white candles in marble and gold candle holders flanked each side. The candle holders were received as a gift by the couple. Also on the table were white napkins imprinted with the names of the couple and the years 1918-1968.

ASSISTING

Assisting at the reception was the couple's oldest grandson, Rodney Allen, who helped serve the guests as they entered. Also helping in the kitchen were Mrs. Afton Allen, Mrs.Leslie Martin, Mrs. Verlan Tinkle and Mrs. Leonard Latcham, all friends of the couple. They were given white organdie aprons with small gold and white bells on them.

Guests present to extend congratulations were from Grinnell, Kellogg, Cedar Rapids, Searsboro, Malcom, Marshalltown and Brooklyn.

Alma Pimlott and Sam Graham, both of Malcom, were married in Grinnell on Dec. 10, 1918. Following their marriage, they lived south of Brooklyn for six years where Mr. Graham farmed. Since that time they have resided in the Grinnell vicinity and have always farmed.

They are the parents of three children, Beecher and Myrna, Mrs. Wilbur Allen, and one son, Ferril, who died in infancy.

They have five grandchildren, Jenese and Duane Graham and Rodney and Michael and Douglas Allen.
