ELDON "RED" DAVIS MISSING IN ACTION OVER IN FRANCE
Mrs. Mary A. Snook received a telegram this morning from the government stating that her grandson, Eldon (Red) Davis, had been missing in action since August third, someplace in France. The telegram stated that if further news was obtained she would be notified. Bill Davis, his father, is in Kentucky and the two were here a few months back before Red left for overseas duty.
Eldon is popular in the community. He graduated from the high school with the 1943 class and played a hard game of football. His many friends hope that "Missing in Action" will be changed to safe and well.
Peter Rook of Malcom is thought to be with the same outfit as Red. The lads were together in Florida and both wrote a letter to the Republican, enclosing a picture.
Vern Davis of this city is a brother.
