SOLDIER BROTHERS WILL BE BURIED IN MONTEZUMA
Funeral services will be held in the Methodist church in Montezuma Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock for two soldier brothers, Private Eldon Davis and Pfc. Forrest Davis, who gave their lives in Europe during World War II and whose bodies have been brought home for burial. The services will be conducted by Rev. Paul C. Ellis and the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts will have charge of the military observance at the graves. The bodies will arrive in Grinnell Friday morning under military escort.
The brothers were grandsons of Mrs. Mary Snook of Montezuma and sons of William Davis of Knoxville, Tenn.
Eldon Davis, 20, a graduate in 1943 from Montezuma high school, where he as well known as a football player, was killed in France August 3, 1944. His older brother, Pfc. Forrest Davis, 22, met his death Dec. 12, 1944, in a take-off accident from a glider in England. Before entering the service he was employed in Ottumwa.
