Reunion Held At The J.D. Hoover Home

REUNION HELD AT THE J.D. HOOVER HOME

In Honor of the Eighty-ninth Birthday of Mr. Hoover.

J.D. Hoover celebrated his eighty-ninth birthday September 23 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hoover. This day also was the birthday of Miss Grace Hoover, his granddaughter. The company gathered at about ten thirty bringing well filled baskets with them. Dinner was served at noon. Mr. Hoover enjoyed a visit from his three sisters, Mrs. Matilda Oshell of Bellwood, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Etta Noel, who has been visiting in Pennsylvania for some time and Mrs. Eliza Fister of Grinnell. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hoover and three children, John, Howard and Betty Ruth, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Graham and son Earl, Mrs. James Emery and sons Leonard and Deverne, Mrs. Lila Sparks and son DeWitt, Mr. and Mrs. George Selle and son Raymond, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hoover and children, Ward, Esther and Harlan, Mrs. Florence Halterman and daughter Ellen Aileen, all of Grinnell and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Brooks and Miss Elsie Graham of Kellogg, and Mrs. Emma Currie of Malcom. Mr. Hoover has five children, fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. All enjoyed themselves, and departed at a late hour, wishing for many more reunions with Mr. Hoover.
