CAR PLUNGES SIXTY FEET TO RAILROAD TRACK BUT NO ONE IS HURT

Montezuma Republican: John McKeag informs the Republican his son Will had a very close shave at Hartwick Tuesday of last week while driving along the highway in his auto. Near Hartwick the dirt road parallels the railroad, but is much higher than the railroad track. At this point a radius rod or some other part of the steering apparatus broke and the car plunged sixty feet down an embankment to the railroad track, but landed right side up. Besides Will McKeag his two children and the hired man were in the car. No one was hurt.

A train was pulling out of Hartwick when the accident happened, but the engineer stopped the engine before he ran the automobile and occupants down. Little damage was done to the car.
