POWESHIEK TEACHER: Prin. Rayburn, of the Brooklyn schools, finds that "strap oil" is an infallible cure for cigarette smoking on the school grounds. If parents would apply the same remedy at home their boys would do better work in school. It is an established fact that the boys who indulge in cigarette smoking are lower in their grades and take less interest in their studies than those not addicted to the habit. The smoking is not the only evil connected with cigarettes. Each package contains an obscene picture which is vicious in its intent and leads the boy to ruin. Parents should interest themselves in this matter and use their influence in stopping this growing evil.
