IS CAUGHT BETWEEEN TEAM AND WAGON

Perry Sparks, Prominent Farmer of Southeast Part of County, Badly Hurt.

IS KICKED BY RUNAWAY MULES; HIT BY WAGON

Sustains a Fractured Leg and Other Injuries--Escape Is Considered Miraculous.

Montezuma Republican: Perry Sparks, well known farmer residing in the southeast part of the county near Beulah church, was severely injured in a runaway Thursday. His escape from more serious hurts was miraculous.

Mr. Sparks was working in the field about a mile from his home and had a team of mules hitched to a wagon. He stepped on the tongue to gather up the lines lying across the back of one mule. As he touched the back of the animal the team became frightened and ran. Mr. Sparks was thrown between the mules, kicked and hit by the wagon. He sustained a fractured right leg, injured knee, bruises on head and body.

Men in the field saw the accident, hurried to Mr. Sparks and took him home, where he is getting along as well as can be expected. Mr. Sparks has many friends who hope he will soon fully recover.
