MARRIED

Pierce-Fleener.

At the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. A.C. Reavis, Wednesday, March 10th, Miss Mertie Pierce and Clifford Fleener were married. Rev. Florence Baker,of Searsboro, performed the ceremony at high noon in the presence of about fifty of the near relatives of the bride and the groom. The bridal party entered the room preceded by the little nieces of the bride, Iceline and Irene Reavis. Then the young couple took their places beneath an arch with the flower girls standing on each side while the ring service was used as the wedding ceremony. The gown of the bride was blue satin trimmed with pearl and lace. The house was elaborately decorated in the color scheme of blue and white. After congratulations had been showered upon Mr. and Mrs. Fleener a three-course banquet was served by Miss Carrie Pilgrim, Miss Agnes Somme and Miss Emma Sanderson. A general reception was given the young friends of the bride in the evening. There was a second reception the next day at the home of the groom's parents, west of Searsboro, Mr. and Mrs. John Fleener. The Saturday night before the wedding Miss Pierce was given a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. E. Davison at Blue Point.

Mr. and Mrs. Fleener will live on the Clem Beeler farm at Blue Point and they are already settled in their new home.
