CARMER-INMAN VOWS
READ IN NAZARENE
CHURCH AT GRINNELL

Bernice Arlene Carmer, daughter of Vinton Carmer of Grinnell and Melvin H. Inman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Inman of Montezuma, were united in marriage at The Church of the Nazarene in Grinnell, Sunday, September 11, at 4:00 p.m.

Rev. Evelyn McKinney officiated at the double ring ceremony, before an altar decorated with shaded yellow flowers.

Miss Norma Wiley played the traditional wedding music and accompanied Mrs. Naomi Phipps of Des Moines when she sang "Because" and the "Lord's Prayer" preceding the ceremony, and "I Love You Truly" as the couple met before the altar.

BLUE LACE DRESS

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a powder blue lace over taffeta street length dress with navy accessories. She carried a white Bible, topped with an arrangement of deep pink roses. She wore a single strand of pearls, a gift of the groom.

Mrs. Doris Large of Grinnell attended her sister as matron of honor, and her dress was of sheer yellow nylon in street length with white accessories. She wore a corsage of pale pink carnations and a necklace and earring set, gift of the bride.

John Large of Grinnell was best man and the ushers were David and Richard McGinty of Grinnell.

For her stepdaughter's wedding, Mrs. Carmer chose a navy and white dress and wore a white carnation corsage. The groom's mother wore a blue dress and also wore white carnations.

RECEPTION HELD

A reception followed at the home of Mrs. Clarence Doud, an aunt of the bride. The bridal table was centered with a three tiered wedding cake, which was topped with a miniature bride and groom and was decorated with yellow roses and bluebirds. Miss Reta Butler poured and Mrs. Norma Sharp cut the cake. They were assisted by Mrs. Doud, Mrs. Ross Swart, and Mrs. Beatrice McDonald.

Miss Carolyn Carmer listed the guests and Miss Darlene McDonald was at the gift table.

The bride has been the Surgical Supervisor of the Community hospital for the past three and one-half years, having worked at the hospital for the past five and one-half years.

The groom is engaged in farming with his brother in Montezuma.
