SAVES SISTER

Nine-year-old Michelle Turner saved the life of her sister Monica, 5, in a near-drowning at Diamond Lake over the Labor Day weekend. The incident occurred when Monica fell off a dock into the water. Michelle grabbed her younger sister by the arm before she went under. The girls are the daughters of Spec. 5 Dennis and Donna Turner and are the granddaughters of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Turner and Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Matherly of Grinnell. Spec. 5 Turner will leave for assignment in Germany Friday, and his wife and children will join him when housing is secured there.
