NEW HOTEL WILL BE ERECTED NEXT SPRING IN BROOKLYN

Brooklyn Chronicle: F. Dewey, proprietor of the Hotel Brooklyn, is making arrangements for a new hotel, work to begin as soon as weather permits in the spring. The architect was here last week and plans were drawn up for a fifty-room building. It will be of brick and thoroughly up-to-date in all departments. The building will sit further back from the railroad platform than the present hotel and reach to the walk at south side of Front street.

With the new hotel, the new elevator, the new Murrison building and the remodeled grounds around the railroad station that portion of Brooklyn will present a vastly different and improved appearance. Perhaps the Rock Island officials will catch the contagion and join in the improvement crusade.
