AN ENJOYABLE REUNION.

The Rivers-Steele Reunion was held at the J.R. Steele home in Union Township, Poweshiek Co., on Sunday, Aug. 26, 1928. Early in the morning the members of this clan began dropping in by the auto load until by noon there were about one hundred and twenty-five present, each family with well filled baskets. Just before the bell ran for dinner baskets were emptied upon a table twenty eight feet long and you should have seen the quantity, the quality and variety, there was on that table. The clan was then organized into two lines and the food was served cafeteria style.

After everyone had eaten more than was really good for them, preparation was made to hear a good program which the Secretary had prepared for the occasion. But just as this was begun, the weather which had been threatening all morning began to rain and the program was called off and every one took a hasty hike for home.

A nominating committee reported that the following should be the officers for the coming year:
J.R. Rivers, President.
Don Beason, Vice President.
Ruth Steele, Secretary.
Jacob Steele, Treasurer.

The next meeting will be the fourth Sunday in Aug. 1929 at the same place unless you have further notice.

Members were present from Minneapolis, Kansas, Marshalltown, Ia., New Sharon, Montezuma, Grinnell, Malcom, Kellogg, Ewart, and Slab Town. Yes the mayor and family were there.

"Yours 'til we met again."
J.R. Rivers, Pres.
