DOG, RUN OVER BY AN AUTOMOBILE BITES HIS MASTER

Montezuma Republican: Carl Gabriel, residing near Deep River, was badly bitten in the arm by his farm dog, Wednesday, and immediately thereafter was taken to physicians and given emergency treatment. Mr. Gabriel was riding in a wagon and leading several of his horses. The dog, a fine one, was following behind the horses. An automobile going the opposite direction and driven by Henry Killean, swept by at a good speed. The horses were frightened and, stepping backwards, pulled Gabriel off the wagon. At the same time the dog jumped to one side to avoid being trampled on by the horses, and landed in front of the machine, which ran over the animal. Jumping up the dog made for its master, who had not yet recovered from his fall and was on the ground, and bit him viciously on the arm. Immediately afterwards the dog, which was hurt internally, died. Mr. Gabriel had the wound cauterized.
