There's quite a bit of information on the Daniel Hougas family in the book, "the Sloopers....," published by the Slooper Society of America.

I'm descended from Julia Hougas, Daniel's sister and have a copy of the "slooper" book which has a wealth of information on this family and would be happy to share what I have if you're interested.
