Macedonia, Iowa – Funeral services were held here Saturday afternoon for Axel Nyquist, 72, who died Wednesday at a Council Bluffs hospital after an illness of two weeks with pneumonia, followed by kidney complications. A native of Sweden, Nyquist came to the United States when he was 21, locating in Knox County, Nebraska, and later at Wahoo, where he farmed until coming to Macedonia two years ago. Surviving is his widow, Hilma; two daughters, Mrs. C. H. DeWitt and Mrs. H. W. DeWitt, both of Macedonia; two sons, Elmer of Wahoo and Reuben of Macedonia; one brother, John of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. J. M. Anderson of Ripon, Calif., and Mrs. N. T.
