Obituary
Cecil M. Pope, eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel W. Pope, was born at Oakland, Iowa, Nov 28, 1897; died at her home in Council Bluffs, Iowa, July 24, 1903; age 5 years, 7 months and 20 days. She was a sweet child with a cheerful and sunny disposition, ever bringing into the home light and happiness. She will be missed from the family circle, her place will be vacant, but the sorrowing ones realize their loss is her gain and that they now have added treasures in heaven. Her illness extended over a period of four months, being confined to her bed constantly for the past ten weeks. Her illness was brought on by a fall which she received nearly seven months ago, causing a blood clot to form at the base of her brain. She suffered intense pain at times, but always bore her sufferings with patience. She leaves to mourn her departure, father, mother and two little sisters, a number of relatives and many little friends. The sorrowing ones have the sympathy of all in their bereavement. Appropriate funeral services were held Saturday morning July 25, 1903 at 10 o’clock at the Christian church, Oakland, Ia.
