Irene M. Lustgraaf, age 89, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013, at her home.

Irene was born May 24, 1924, in Lindsay, Neb., to Michael and Elizabeth (Keimig) Konz and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Neola, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Paul G. Lustgraaf on July 7, 1948. Irene is a longtime member of Holy Family Church and their Altar and Rosary Society, VFW Auxiliary and volunteered in the grandma program at Council Bluffs Schools.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul, on May 8, 1997; brothers, Mike, Joseph, Raymond and John; sisters, Rose, Violenta, Marie and Madonna.

Survivors include brother, Ervin Konz, of Minden, Iowa; daughters, Kathi (John) Wingstad, of Carter Lake, Iowa, Connie (Rodger) Malone, Karla Malone (Tim Sousa), and Cindy (Mark) James, all of Council Bluffs; sons, Paul (Vicki) Lustgraaf, of Ames, Iowa, Gordon (Marta) Lustgraaf, Greg Lustgraaf, Roger Lustgraaf, all of Council Bluffs, and Steve Lustgraaf, of Omaha, Neb.; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Holy Family Rosary Monday at 4 p.m. Wake service Monday at 6 p.m., with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m., all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Holy Family Church.

Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, followed by a luncheon back at Holy Family. Memorials to the Diabetes Association preferred.
