Joanne K. Barrier, age 75, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Mercy Hospital. She was born May 13, 1936, to the late Clifford Patrick and Hazel Elizabeth Twomey Grieder. Joanne graduated from St. Francis High School and worked as a sales associate for Pendleton, Dillards, Von Maur and Kohls for over 28 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed her kids and grandchildren.

Joanne is also preceded in death by her brother, Ralph James Grieder; and great granddaughter, Lena Katherine Blakely.

Survivors include her children, Steven C. Barrier and Penny, of Neola, Iowa, Teresa M. Barrier, James A. Barrier, both of Council Bluffs, Pamela Barrier Shea and Shawn, of Crescent, Iowa, Joseph C. Barrier and Lexi Fox, Rodney D. Barrier, Mark D. Barrier, all of Council Bluffs; 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; brother, LeRoy P. Grieder and Marilyn, of Council Bluffs; sisters, Mary Pat Schierbrock, of Neola, Rosezita Adams and Tom, of Tuttle, Okla., Pauline Roll, of Santa Paul, Calif. and Connie Shriver and Jerry, of Council Bluffs; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with family Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services Saturday, 1 p.m., all at the Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel.

Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Joanne has suggested memorials to her church.
