Delores Dawn Mayer, age 59, of Neola, Iowa, passed away July 1, 2011, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Neb.

Dawn was born July 28, 1951, in Manchester, Iowa, to Wilbur and Donna (Graul) Mangold. She graduated from North Linn High School in 1969, Iowa State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and received her RN Degree in 1972 . She worked as a home care nurse for Alegent Health. Dawn was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church and was very active in Lutheran Women Missionary League.

She is survived by husband, John; sons, Jacob Mayer and wife, Katie, of Starkville, Miss., Tedd Mayer, of David City, Neb.; brother, Duane Mangold and wife, Lenny, of Ames, Iowa, Bill Mangold and wife, Jean, of Coggin, Iowa; father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Lois Mayer, of Marcus, Iowa.

Visitation will be held 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, with a prayer service at 4 p.m., at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 30907 Coldwater Avenue, Honey Creek, Iowa, Rev. David Kuhnle officiating of St John’s Lutheran Church.

Burial will be at Grange Cemetery.

Family will direct memorials.
