William C. Brich

William C. “Bill” Brich, age 71, of Neola, Iowa, passed away June 20, 2011, at his home from injuries suffered in a tractor accident.

Bill was born November 23, 1939, in Minden, Iowa, to the late John W. and Angela (Lustgraaf) Brich. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1958, and married Rosemary Christiansen on November 26, 1960, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Neola. They were blessed with six children, Scott M., Kathleen J., Christopher W., Michelle A., Nancy L. and Kevin A. Bill farmed from 1960-1981 and owned and operated Brich Real Estate and Auction Co. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Neola and was a Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, Luke E. Hart Assembly #277 member in Defiance, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by infant brother, Leonard Brich; and infant sister, Roberta Brich; sisters-in-law, Denise Brich and Ruth Brich; and brother-in-law, Robert Bloomquist.

Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosemary Brich, of Neola; daughters, Kathleen J. Brich, of Council Bluffs, Michelle A. (Dale) Dougherty, of Omaha, Neb., Nancy L. (Tony) Shepard, of Clive, Iowa; sons, Scott M. (Diane) Brich, of Rolla, Mo., Christopher W. (Judy) Brich, of Raynham, Mass., Kevin A. (Melinda) Brich, of Minden, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Sister Roberta Brich, of Davenport, Iowa, Jeanette (Bill) Masker, of Neola, Dorothy (Charles) Nissen, of Omaha,Neb., Josie Darrell) Losh, of Dunlap, Iowa, Donna Bloomquist, of Charleston, Ill., Rosemary (Charles) Kloewer, of Mapleton, Iowa; brothers, Herb Brich, of Neola, David (Dory) Brich, of Council Bluffs; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family, Wednesday, 4 to 8 p.m., at St. Patrick’s Church in Neola. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, 11 a.m., St. Patrick’s Church, Neola.

Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery with a lunch following at the parish hall. Memorials to Neola, Iowa Fire and Rescue or Minden, Iowa Fire and Rescue.
