Jack A. Moffatt, age 94, of Neola, Iowa, passed away November 13, 2010, at his home.

He was born February 20, 1916, in Neola, to the late Edward and Bertha (Handbury) Moffatt. He graduated from Neola High School in 1934. He served his country building fighter planes at Curtis Wright in Buffalo, N.Y. Jack married Catherine Clementine Tamisiea on March 22, 1941, in Council Bluffs. They were blessed with five children, Richard, Madonna, Trudy, Marjorie and Edward. Jack started farming and producing livestock in 1943 in the Neola/Persia area. He retired in 1998 at the age of 82. Jack had a great love of horses; ballroom, square and polka dancing. Jack met his wife through dancing and they continued dancing all of their lives. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Neola.

Jack was preceded in death by his sister and 3 brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Clementine Moffatt, of Neola; daughters, Madonna (Mike) Carman, of Bellevue, Neb., Trudy (Tom) Gollobit, of Omaha, Neb., Margie (Johnny) Herold, of Panora, Iowa; sons, Richard (Judy) Moffatt, of Omaha, Edward (Pat) Moffatt, of Neola; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Wake service, Tuesday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation until 8 p.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Neola. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the church. Rev. Raphael Masabakhwa, Pastor will be the celebrant.

Interment Neola Township Cemetery with a lunch following at the parish hall. Memorials to St. Patrick Church or Neola Fire and Rescue.
