The funeral for Jerry L. "Chico" Atilano, 47, of Avoca will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel with the Rev. Ben Kenkel officiating.

Mr. Atilano died May 21 at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha.

He was born July 27, 1955, in Council Bluffs to Jay and Emma (Lee) Atilano. He lived in Council Bluffs, moving to Avoca 10 years ago. He was self-employed with a carpet cleaning company. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene (Cooper), of Council Bluffs; three daughters, Jeri L. Atilano of Council Bluffs, Stephanie Ann Stubbs of Harlan and Stacy Atilano of Walnut; four grandchildren; mother, Emma Atilano, of Council Bluffs; three brothers, Terry Atilano, Larry Atilano and Rodney Atilano, all of Council Bluffs; one sister, Tammie Rieper, and husband, Tony, of Council Bluffs; one nephew.

Visitation with the family will be tonight from 6 to 8 with prayer service at 7 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Garner Township Cemetery.
