Helen M. Knipping

Memorial service for Helen M. Knipping, 88, of Council Bluffs will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church.

She died April 17 at Bethany Lutheran Home.

She was born June 7, 1914, in Sparta, Mo., to Thomas E. and Clara May (Swiers) Robison. She previously lived in Sparta and California, moving to Council Bluffs in 1947. She was a 1932 graduate of Sparta High School and attended Southwest Missouri State University. She was an obstetrics nurse technician at Mercy Hospital for 22 years, retiring in June 1976. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and a past president and vice president of Church Women United. She was a deaconess at the church. She served on the Southwest Eight Advisory Board.

Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Strom and husband, Byron, of Des Moines and Karen Snyder and husband, Ken, of Fremont, Neb.; four grandchildren; one grandson-in-law.

At her request her body was donated to the Anatomical Department of NHS University Hospital in Omaha. Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be offered to First Baptist Church, Bethany Lutheran Home or Hospice Preferred Choice.
