Thelma Holmberg

The funeral for Thelma "Nickell" Holmberg, 88, of Council Bluffs will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Erickson officiating.

Mrs. Holmberg died April 15 at Indian Hills Nursing Center. She was a wife and homemaker. She was on the Council Bluffs School Board, Corps of Engineers in Omaha. She also was a past member of the Eagles and AARP.

Mrs. Holmberg was preceded in death by her husband, Eric, on Oct. 16, 2002.

Survivors include daughter, Elizabeth McGlade, and husband, Larry, of Council Bluffs; son, Alan Holmberg, and wife, Sharon, of Carmel, Ind.; brother, Charles Galpin, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Christopher and Kevin Holmberg of Indiana, Julianne McGlade of Council Bluffs, Shellie McGlade, Kent, Randy and Zane McGlade, all of Omaha; four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be tonight from 6:30 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
