Lee E. Hamlin

Lee E. Hamlin, 99, of Council Bluffs died April 16 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

He was born Oct. 24, 1903, in Red Oak to Albert R. and Mary E. (Watson) Hamlin. He moved to Council Bluffs in 1952. He was a 1922 graduate of Red Oak High School. He worked at Central Market in Omaha from 1952-65, then was produce manager for Shavers Supermarket for six years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church.

Mr. Hamlin was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Henry Hamlin, on Aug. 6, 1972, and his second wife, Esther V. Jensen Hamlin, on Feb. 11, 1994.

Survivors include three stepdaughters, Elaine C. Parish of Council Bluffs, Marilyn Hunter and husband, William, of Little Sioux and Karen Sullivan and husband, Dan, of Show Low, Ariz.; nine stepgrandchildren; numerous step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Open visitation will be at the funeral home. The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Arnpriester officiating. Burial will be in Carson Cemetery.
