Etta M. McClain

Memorial service for Etta Mae McClain, 86, of Council Bluffs will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. McClain died Feb. 28 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

She was born June 17, 1916, in Harvey, Ill., to Lamont and Ramona (Seward) Baer. She moved to Council Bluffs in 1930. She was an elevator operator for Woodmen of the World for 35 years and a member of First Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. McClain was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 1992. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Hartwell, and three sisters, Charlotte Sipp, Fern Baer and Ruth Hurlbut.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn Poskochil and husband, Edward, and Karen Jones and friend, Barry, all of Council Bluffs; one son, Bill Lee, and wife, Mary, of Omaha; longtime companion and friend, Ernie; brother, Warren Baer, and wife, Phyllis, of Council Bluffs; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

The body has been cremated; there will be no viewing. Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
