Helen O'Bradovich

Helen O'Bradovich, 82, of Council Bluffs died March 8 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha from complications from a perforation during ERCP.

She was born Jan. 1, 1921, to Nicholas and Janja (Potkonjak). She lived in Council Bluffs all her life. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School.

She worked as an engine dispatcher for engineers and firefighters for the Union Pacific Railroad for more than 40 years. She was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church in Omaha, Union Pacific Employees' Club No. 3 and the Clerks Union.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Mildred, Ruby, Bessie Rogers, Anne Morsch and foster sister Millie Pospisal.

Survivors include a sister, Mary O'Bradovich; four brothers, Robert and wife, Boots, Sam, Joe and wife, Geri, and Steve and wife, Winona, all of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews and foster relatives, Ted and Rita Argentine of Valley, Neb., and Silvera Evanoff of Omaha.

A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with visitation with the family to follow. Funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church with the Rev. Vojislav Dosenovich officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with luncheon to follow at St. Nicholas Community Center.

Memorials may be offered to St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church.
