In Memory: Violet M. Vittitoe

Violet M. Vittitoe, 85, of Council Bluffs died November 28 at Risen Son Christian Village.

She was born July 12, 1916, in Blencoe to Wilbur and Bertha (Marley) Hime. She moved to Council Bluffs in 1941. She was a 1933 graduate of Blencoe High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Vittitoe was preceded in death by her husband, Paul M., on July 9, 2001.

Survivors include one daughter, Virginia O'Neill, and husband, Bob, of Underwood; one son, Ronald, and wife, Theon, of Red Oak; five sisters, Frances Clay of Whiting, Mary Brokens and husband, Pete, of Onawa, Evelyn Purchase of Onawa, Bonnie Stevenson and husband, Bob, of Onawa and Luea Sorensen and husband, Harold, of Onawa; one brother, George Hime, and wife, Doris, of Loveland, Colorado; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Cutler Chapel. The funeral was held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Paul Crane of Risen Son Christian Village officiating. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the American Cancer Society.
