Lavon Heitman

MINEOLA - Lavon Heitman, 82, of Mineola died March 8 after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Treynor and lived in rural Mineola her entire life.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John Fritz Heitman, who died June 23, 1992.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Toelle and husband, Ardon, of Arlington, Neb.; two sons, Kenneth and wife, Beth, of rural Glenwood and Dean of Glenwood; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Clifford Nelson of Treynor.

Visitation with the family will be Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home in Glenwood. Funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Stephany Sanborn officiating. Burial will be in the Mineola Cemetery.

A memorial fund that has been established.
