In Memory: Ethel M. Holst

The funeral for Ethel M. Holst, 86, of Treynor was held Friday at 10 a.m. at Zion Congregational Church in Treynor with the Rev. Alan Hardy officiating, followed by a luncheon at the church.

Mrs. Holst died November 12 at Risen Son Christian Village.

She was born June 23, 1916, in Keg Creek Township, Pottawattamie County, to Gustave and Pearl (Campbell) Saar. She was raised in the Dumfries area and resided in Treynor area 65 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Congregational Church in Treynor.

Mrs. Holst and her husband, Virgil F., were married 65 years. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Rickhoff, in 1999.

Survivors in addition to her husband, include one daughter, Deanna Hahn, and husband, Terrel, of Treynor; one son, Fritz, and wife, Connie, of Treynor; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Burial of ashes will be at a later date at the Zion Cemetery in Treynor.

Memorials may be offered to Zion Congregational Church or Treynor Fire & Rescue.
