In Memory: Dean H. Grove

Dean H. Grove, 70, of Macedonia, and a former board president of the Carson-Macedonia School, District, died July 4.

Mr. Grove was born in Weston and graduated from Underwood High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Austria for two years during the Korean War. He was a farm owner operator and a cattle feeder. He also was a seed dealer.

He was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post in Macedonia, the Pottawattamie County Cattleman's Association, as well as board president of the Carson-Macedonia schools- _

In 1992, he received the Outstanding Feeder award from the cattleman's association.

He and his wife, Bernadine, were married for 48 years.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, LuAnn Smith and husband, William, of Carson and Linda Olson and husband, William, of Mission, Kansas; one brother, Glen and wife, Rosemary, of Bell Vista, Arizona; and- five grandsons.

Visitation was held Sunday afternoon at Hertz Funeral Home in Carson.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Marlene Brown officiating. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery with military rites by the Macedonia American Legion Post.

A fund has been established for memorials.
