In Memory: Anna K. Schnepel

Anna K. Schnepel, 91, died February 16 at Indian Hills Nursing Home in Council Bluffs.

She was born July 22, 1911, in Avoca to Hartwig and Christin (Godberson) Petersen. She lived in Minden as a farmer's wife for 43 years before moving to Council Bluffs in 1974. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Council Bluffs.

Mrs. Schnepel was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J., in 1992; a daughter, Kathryn Vogt; and a son, Rudolph R. Schnepel.

Survivors include a daughter, Lou Ann Mauer and her husband Robert of Aurora, Colorado; a son, Gary Schnepel and his wife Colleen of Omaha; a sister-in-law, Betty Petersen of Butte, Montana; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Haas of Audubon; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was to be Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 400 Cloverdale Drive, Council Bluffs, with the Rev. Tony Paff officiating.

Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery with a lunch following at St. John's United Church of Christ.

Memorials may be offered to St. John's United Church of Christ.
