In Memory: Irene Jacobsen

The funeral for Irene C. Ehlers Jacobsen, 88, of Harlan was held Tuesday at Knutson Funeral Chapel in Avoca with Wayne Paulsen officiating.

Mrs. Jacobsen died December 14 at Myrtue Memorial Hospital in Harlan.

She was born near Minden. She previously lived in Avoca, Minden, Council Bluffs and Tama. She moved to Harlan 16 years ago. She was a clerk at Rexall Drugstore in Tama, retiring in 1979. She, was a member of Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tama.

Mrs. Jacobsen was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, in 1971; son, Gary Dean and one sister, Margaret Schuning.

Survivors include a niece, Sharon Mangiameli of Fountain, Colorado; nephews, George Kardell [of Dallas, Texas and Derald Schuning and his wife Darlene of Harlan, Iowa.

Visitation with the family was held at the funeral home. Burial s was in the Minden Cemetery.
