In Memory: Elizabeth P. Gage

Funeral for Elizabeth P. Gage, 96, of Milford, Nebraska, was held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Milford United Methodist Church with the Rev. Keith Johnson officiating.

Mrs. Gage died June 6 at Integrated Health Services Nursing Home in Milford.

She was born August 4, 1903, on a farm near Herman, Nebraska, to Thomas and Sophia (Mencke) Mathiesen. She attended country school near Bancroft. She and her husband farmed near Lyons and lived near Underwood from 1940 until she moved to Milford in 1982. She entered the nursing home in 1983. She was a member of Mount Hope Methodist Church in McClelland.

Mrs. Gage was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, in 1983.

Survivors include a daughter, Edna "Sue" Frey, and husband, Marvin, of Milford; three sons, Peter Jr. and wife, Corrine, of Omaha, Roy and wife, Eleanor, of Ralston, Nebraska, and Stanley and wife, Joan, of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska; a sister, Edna Diddock, of Eugene, Oregon; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Burial was Friday at 3 p.m. in the Lyons City Cemetery at Lyons. Lauber-Moore Funeral Home in Milford was in charge of arrangements.
