In Memory: Archie Graybill

Archie Graybill, 75, of rural Blair, Nebraska, died April 16 at his home. He was born on March 25, 1925 at Persia to Albert Lee Graybill and Gladys Nadene Campbell.

He graduated from Neola High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. He farmed in the Persia area until 1951; moved to Omaha and sold insurance and was co-owner of a construction company.

He then farmed in Iowa until 1966, when he returned to Omaha and was a garage door operator-installer and started his own business. He returned to farming in 1975.

He was a life member of the Blair Veterans of Foreign Wars post, Persia American Legion Post No. 0314, the Blair Fraternal Order of Eagles and 40 & 8.

Mr. Graybill and his wife, Joyce E. (Schneckloth) were married on June 28, 1952.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nancy Pares and her husband Dave of Omaha; a son Mark and his wife Paula of Agoura Hills, California; two sisters, Mary Emmons of Neola and Eileen Marr of Persia; a brother, Lee and his wife Lois of Council Bluffs; four grandchildren; nieces and nephew.

Funeral was to be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bennington, Nebraska. Burial was to be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Valley View Cemetery at Persia. Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be offered to the American Cancer Society or the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
