In Memory: Linda Anna Danker

Linda Anna Danker, 97, of Minden, died June 6, 2000 at Bethany Lutheran Home in Council Bluffs.

A lifelong resident of Minden, she was a homemaker and enjoyed having coffee every day at 8 a.m. in the local cafe. She was a member of the Minden United Church of Christ, Women's Fellowship, Minden Senior Citizens and Botna Valley Republican Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Danker, in 1973; two infant grandsons; a great grandson, Abe Pierce; three brothers, Claudius, Ralph and Gifford Schnepel; and two sisters, Grace Siebels and Vera Schroder.

Survivors include three sons, Arlyn and his wife Lois of Minden, Maynard and his wife Mary Jane of Minden and Reynold and his wife Orpha of Omaha; four daughters, Alma Jeanne and her husband Howard Blank of Granger, Indiana; LaVon and her husband Joe Hadfield of Treynor; Karen and her husband Bob Hundt of Avoca and Joyce and her husband Rich McKinney of Grand Island, Nebraska; 27 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; two sisters, Mildred Nelson of Harlan and Alpha and her husband Kenneth Haas of Atlantic; and three sisters-in-law, Irene Schnepel of Hancock, Anna Schnepel of Council Bluffs and Ellen Danker of Avoca.

Family visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Minden United Church of Christ, concluding with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. David Borden, pastor, co-officiating with Wayne Paulsen, lay minister from Trinity Lutheran in Avoca. Interment at the Minden Cemetery will follow the service.

Memorials are suggested to the Minden United Church of Christ or to Minden Fire and Rescue.
