In Memory: Agnes Honewell

Funeral for Agnes Marie "Peggy" Honewell, 97, of Persia was held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Persia with the Rev. John Swenson officiating.

Mrs. Honewell died March 29 at Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley.

She was born March 16, 1903, in Blair, Nebraska. She and her husband farmed in the Persia area for many years and they moved to Persia in 1968. She worked as a cook at Harmony Inn. She lived in Council Bluffs from 1990 until she moved to Longview Care Center. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Honewell was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, in 1972.

Survivors include a daughter, Norma Tradel, and husband, LaVerne, of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held at the church. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery in Persia, followed by lunch and fellowship at St. John's Lutheran Church in Persia. Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley was in charge of arrangements.
