In Memory: William Sharrett
Funeral for William R. Sharrett, 76, of McClelland was held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with the Rev. Delbert Story of Hazel Dell Methodist Church, officiating.

Mr. Sharrett died April 20 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

He was born in Council Bluffs and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army during. W.II and worked as a Postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service for 5 years.

He was a member of Disabled Veterans Veterans, Council Bluff's airplane Club and AARP. He was retired volunteer foreman for the 1cClelland Fire Department.

Mr. Sharrett and his wife, Darlene (Lohendo), were married 56 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Sandy Feller and husband, Phil, of McClelland and Beverly Dumont of Antlers, Oklahoma; one son, Roy, of Omaha; one sister, Arlene Slack of Council Buffs; three stepbrothers Alfred Jr., Melvin and Willie Sick; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, as well as other family and friends.

Visitation with the family was held Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Underwood Fire and Rescue Unit.
