In Memory: Harry Christo

Harry R. Christo, 93, of Council Bluffs died July 17 at Indian Hills Nursing Center.

He was born in Oakland. He previously lived in McClelland and Minden area moving to Council Bluffs 14 years ago. He was retired. He had been a farmer and worked at Duchman Grinding Company in rural Council Bluffs and Thompson Supply of Omaha, Seed Corn Dealer. He was a member of St. Peter's Church.

Mr. Christo was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice, his second wife, Grace, in 1951 and his third wife, Margaret, in May of 2000.

Survivors include three stepdaughters, Mary Ellen Hughes of Omaha, Joanne Kimball and husband, Ken, of Council Bluffs and Wilma Killion of Denver; three step-sons; Donald Eyler and wife, Doris, of Carson, Dennis Whyte and wife, Karalyn, of Walnut and Thomas Whyte and wife, Sandra, of Boone; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral Mass was to be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church with the Rev. Dan Kirby officiating.

Memorials may be offered to the St. Peter's Church.
