In Memory: Lena Trede

Lena B. (Skinner) Trede, 81, of Neola, died April 24, 2000 at Blair Memorial Hospital in Blair, Nebraska.

Born March 25, 1919, in Calhoun, Iowa, Lena graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1935 and attended Simpson College in Indianola.

Since 1940, she and her late husband John H. Trede farmed in Harrison County near Neola. John died on April 1, 1991.

Lena was an insurance clerk for Western Casualty & Surety Co. for twenty years. A member of the Methodist faith, she also belonged to the National Women's Bowling Association.

Survivors include two daughters, Marie Trede-Kulman and her husband Robert H. Kulman of Council Bluffs, and Janice and her husband Jim Williamson of Modale; a son, Robert J. Trede of Lafayette, Colorado; a stepmother, Olive Skinner of Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was planned for Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Cutler Funeral Home Chapel in Council Bluffs.

Funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27 at the Cutler Chapel with the Rev. Mark D. Heath, pastor of Epworth United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Missouri Valley.

Memorials may be offered to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.

Cutler Funeral Home is in charge of a1-rararrangements.
