In Memory: Lloyd Saar

Lloyd J. Saar, 85, of Council Bluffs died June 22 at Indian Hills Nursing Center.

He was born September 23, 1914, in Silver Creek Township in Pottawattamie County to Gustave F. Saar and Pearl R. Campbell Saar. He had lived in Council Bluffs for the past 10 years. He owned and operated a general trucking and corn shelling business, retiring in 1970. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Evangelical Country Church and South Omaha Eagles Lodge No. 154.

Mr. Saar and his wife Leta M. (Peterson) were married February 14, 1948.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sisters, Ethel Holst and husband, Virgil, of Treynor and Letha Hobson of Oakland; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held from 7 to 8 at Cutler Funeral Home. Funeral was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Country Church in Council Bluffs with the Rev. Mark Moore and the Rev. Aaron Simons co-officiating. Burial of ashes was held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery
