In Memory: Virginia Wingert

Virginia Marie Wingert, 69, of Panama died June 26 in Panama.

She was born in Panama and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Panama in 1948. She was a secretary at Mercy Hospital.

Mrs. Wingert and her husband, Louis, were married 47 years.

Survivors in addition to her husband include four daughters, Mary Fahn and husband, Jamie, of Portsmouth, Sandra Rose and husband, Kirk; of Onawa, June McAdams and husband, Christopher, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jolene Nolte and husband, Sergio, of Sioux City; two sons, Michael and wife, Susan, and Paul and wife, Kristina, all of Panama; five sisters, Sister Joyce Blum of Tucson, Arizona, Alice Zimmerman and husband, Jerry, of Minden, Jean Heese and husband, Leroy, of Defiance, Judy Clark and husband, Fred, of Omaha and Audrey Smith and husband, Dennis, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; four brothers, Vernon Blum of Harlan, Chris Blum Jr. and wife, Pat, and Charles Blum, all of Panama, and Emil Blum of Omaha; and 15 grandchildren.

A rosary was held at 7:30 at Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan, and a wake service was held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Panama. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery at Panama.
