In Memory: Cody Bergantzel

Funeral for Cody Joseph Bergantzel, 18, of Council Bluffs was held Friday at 1 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Gross of Holy Family Church officiating.

Mr. Bergantzel died July 2 at Grant.

He was born in Council Bluffs and attended Thomas Jefferson High School and Kanesville High School. He worked as a custodian for Iowa Western Community College.

Survivors include his son, Nathan Cody Bergantzel, of Council Buffs; his mother, Chris Bergantzel, and stepfather, Robert Hayes, of Council Bluffs; a sister Misty Bergantzel, of Council Bluffs; grandparents Deanna Bergantzel of Council Bluffs and Charles Bergantzel and wife, Peggy, of Underwood; aunts, uncles, cousins and companion, Julie Doss, of Council Bluffs.

A prayer service was held Thursday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by visitation with the family until 8 p.m.

Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
