In Memory: Phyllis Crow

Phyllis Crow, 81, of Costa Mesa, California, died December 2, 2000 at her residence after a short illness.

She was born May 18, 1919, in Underwood, Iowa to Edward O. and Jenny (Mortensen) Bonnes. She graduated from Underwood High School in 1937.

She lived in Minders and Neola before moving to California in 1949. She was active in the Rainbow Girls for many years, an avid sewer and a homemaker.

Mrs. Crow was preceded in death by her husband Robert on December 31, 1998.

Survivors include three daughters, Sylvia Ahrens and her husband Merlyn of San Diego, California, Linda Chaffers and her husband Michael of Santa Ana, California, and Sherri Crow of San Diego; one sister, Arlene Matthews of Neola; one sister-in-law Emily Bonnes of San Diego; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; one aunt, Marie Mortensen of Neola; one uncle, the Rev. Raymond Mortensen of Atascadero, California; and nieces and nephews.

Burial was to be private. Blue Pacific Cremation and Burial Service in Anaheim, California, was in charge of arrangements.
