In Memory: Beulah "Bee" R. Heilig

Beulah "Bee" Ruth Heilig, 67, of Avoca, died December 29, 2000 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha following a brief illness.

Beulah Ruth Strong was born on November 28, 1933 in Atlantic, the second of four children in the family of Raymond and Burnice Jensen Strong. She attended Botna Valley #4 Grade School and Avoca High School.

She married Oscar Wiemann on February 10, 1950. They were the parents of five children: Connie, Peggy, Debbie, Sherry and William.

Beulah worked in the grocery business for 30 years, starting at Piittmann Grocery in Avoca and the going to Bakers Grocery in Omaha, where she retired in 1993. She continued to work part-time at Avoca Super Foods for a few years.

In 1995 she married Bob Heilig in Yuma, Arizona. They resided in Avoca during the summer and traveled to Texas and California during the winter months. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William; an infant sister, Virginia Ray; stepmother, Iris Strong; and brother-in-law, Gus Attanasio.

Survivors include her husband, Bob, of Avoca; four daughters, Connie and her husband Del Fields of Versailles, Missouri, Peggy and her husband Leroy Osbahr of Avoca, Debbie Olsen of Chicago, Illinois and Sherry and her husband Jim Jones of Omaha; one sister, Victorine and her husband Robert Jensen of Avoca; one brother, Russell Strong and his wife Nancy of Carson; stepsister, Sharon Attanasio of Shelby; four step-children, Robert Heilig and his wife Laura, Donald Heilig and his wife Laurel, Ronald Heilig and his wife Nadine and Carol Heilig, all of San Diego, California; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grand-children; 12 step grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday evening at Knutson Funeral Home in Avoca. Funeral ceremonies were held Monday, January 1 at 1 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca with Pastor John Rinde officiating. Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Avoca.
