In Memory: Darrell D. Jacobsen
Darrell Delmon Jacobsen, 54, died Tuesday, December 19, 2000, in Sparks, Nevada.
He was the son of Delmon and Dorothy (Michaelsen) Jacobsen. He was born on December 16, 1946, in Atlantic, Iowa. He attended country school in Walnut, Iowa, and graduated from Avoca, Iowa, in 1965. Shortly after graduation, Darrell joined the United States Air Force and spent most of his duty in Denning, Texas.

He owned and operated his own truck and was employed by Smithway-Motor-Express.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Jacobsen of Shelby, Iowa; his children, Shela Jacobsen and
Michael Jacobsen, both of Avoca; his mother, Dorothy Jacobsen of Avoca; his sister, Dianne and her husband Larry Ehlers of Persia; his stepchildren, Steve Niziol and his wife Christina of Shelby; and David Niziol of Shelby.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Delmon H. Jacobsen in 1985, his grandfather, and grandmother Harry and Leona Jacobsen; his grandfather, Harry Michaelsen; and his grandmother, Clara Hansen.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6 at 1:00 P.M. at the United Lutheran Church in Shelby with lunch and fellowship to follow.
